Overview

DigitalTouch developed the public-facing Backendless website. The engagement focused on presenting a sophisticated technical product through a clear, maintainable, and scalable web experience for developers, product teams, business decision-makers, and enterprise users.
The scope of this case is important: DigitalTouch developed the Backendless website, not the Backendless application-development platform itself. Platform functionality, infrastructure, SDKs, APIs, and backend services belong to the Backendless product and team.
Explaining a platform with many layers
A developer platform is difficult to communicate because it is rarely one product with one simple use case. Backendless combines capabilities that can be understood separately — database, authentication, APIs, realtime communication, server-side logic, UI development, hosting, and infrastructure — but create the most value when presented as one connected platform.
The website needed to work for visitors with different levels of technical knowledge and different intentions:

The website architecture is intentionally separate from the Backendless platform itself. The public site communicates and supports the product; it does not duplicate the platform’s application logic or infrastructure inside WordPress.

Technical product pages often combine long-form explanations, feature comparisons, code-oriented concepts, diagrams, calls to action, pricing information, and links into deeper documentation. These pages need stronger hierarchy than a conventional corporate brochure.
The front end had to support scanning as well as detailed reading. Clear section structure allows a new visitor to understand the value proposition quickly, while developers can continue into the specific capabilities relevant to their architecture.
Responsive behaviour is especially important for dense content. Navigation, feature groups, comparison structures, and calls to action must remain understandable without simply shrinking a desktop page onto a mobile viewport.
